TGI{DIY}Friday: I Love You

September 16, 2011 § Leave a comment

This project I am about to show is super easy, fun, and gets a lot of attention. We were changing up some of our wall decor this summer and didn’t want to go out and buy all new wall “junk”, as my husband calls it. We were even able to recycle from what we were taking down. Here’s what we came up with…

Here’s what you need:

3 frames (any size). We just used the frames from the old pictures we took down.

Any kind of fabric (we used what we had, a brown damask print)

Tissue paper or newspaper

Burlap  (Joann’s fabric)

3 Metal fixtures (Hobby Lobby)

Here’s how you do it:

On your cardboard, trace out your letters to give you a guideline. Glue your bits of tissue paper on the cardboard to make your letters.

After all the tissue is on, cut out the letter so there is no excess cardboard that can be seen.

Wrap whatever was in the frame with the fabric and staple.

Glue the tissue letter onto the fabric board.

Place the board in the frame.

Hang your frames where you would like.

Hang the metal fixtures centered above each frame.

Pull the burlap through and tack on to the back of each frame. The frames are not being supported by the burlap and metal, the frames are already hung on the wall.
